matthew's blogState of Moncton WifiSubmitted by matthew on Wed, 2007-08-01 13:29.
Once again I'm off on my biannual pilgrimage to Moncton, and in preparation I thought I'd check on the state of free monkeytown wifi. Normally this proves fruitless, but now, as of June 22, in certain areas of downtown, I will find myself embraced by the cozy inviting arms of free connectivity...

The UnderdogsSubmitted by matthew on Wed, 2007-06-20 08:44.
Found this on the Snailhouse site! Ahhh it was Moncton, it was the 80s, and I was a 16 year old kid in the audience...

Critical MassSubmitted by matthew on Fri, 2007-03-30 10:46.
Well it's the first Critical Mass of the season this evening... I've never ridden in one although I do like the idea. However, I will not be riding in this one either, but if your interested you should show up at:
5:30pm at Phillips Square, Ste-Catherine @ Union DemoCampMontreal2Submitted by matthew on Thu, 2007-03-29 12:29.
It's DemoCampMontreal2 night at the SAT. The presenters look pretty interesting this time around, so I'd suggest signing up and swinging by the SAT at 6:30pm.

Here's some video that I took on Laika Night at the SAT on Sat (see xRx you should have come):

I hang out at Laika a lot, in fact I stopped by for a beer on my way down to the SAT on Sat. Anyway I go up to the bar at the SAT, and voila there's a projection of the bicycle photo from behind the bar at Laika. Turns out it's Laika Night at the SAT. That's a lot of Laika. I'll be uploading a video clip of it later.

Been Over a WeekSubmitted by matthew on Sat, 2007-03-17 20:15.
Wow it's been over a week since I've posted anything... now that's a shame. Today I posted a review of the Expo Manger Santé to Midnight Poutine. If you like organic food it's an event well worth checking out. However, tomorrow is the last day, so if you can find some time around the St Patty's Day parade you should head on over to the Palais des congrès.
At any rate, I got really sick last weekend, and I've spent most of the week recovering. I haven't really been training, going out, or writing all that much. However, the past week did see me miss my chance at a possible modeling career ;) (more on that later), and it witnessed my meeting a wonderful woman (but not so sure I'll write about that... too personal). Forgot my swimsuit so it turned into a fairly long run day instead of a long swim day. BTW I love my new Polar RS800sd. I'll be reviewing it at some point in the future.

2007-02-28 to 2007-03-05 Training (very light again)Submitted by matthew on Tue, 2007-03-06 16:16.
Life keeps interfering with training... I've got to find a way to curb it or at least accommodate it better. I'm not going to complain too much though because I've had a great week.
But skimping on training can't continue; I've got goals that I have to achieve!!! Total Time 6 days: 4:00 Wed (Nada - other obligations) Thurs (noon and night had other obligations) 7:30 am - YMCA Run - run: 1:00 (treadmill) Fri 7:45 am - YMCA Run - run: 0:30 (treadmill) 12:00 pm - YMCA swim - swim: 0:30 1250 (mixed 750 free sets of 500 and 250) Sat 5:30 pm - YMCA run and swim - run: 1:45 track and treadmill - swim: 0:15 easy recovery from run Sun (Nada -- Nuit Blanche left me destroyed) Mon (Nada -- too busy with work and other obligations) ( categories: training )
