<p>The old house, built in 1840 by his great great grandfather, by a gang of boat builders and canal diggers, by the hard living labour of the time, had seen better days.  It had been in his family until the day that his father sold it for the suburban dream.  He loved his father, even liked his father, but like so many children of the 2<sup>nd</sup> great war, his father desired a peace that could only come with a prefab life.  The city was too dirty, disorganized, crowded, and for his father it lacked the newer open sky frontiers.</p>
<p>The old house had seen better days.</p>
