Part of the Festival de la Sante OASIS, this was the crowning race of my season; what I had been training up to all summer. It was a great race, and the conditions were perfect. The crowd was great, there was entertainment at every water stop, and the finish line was inside the Olympic Stadium (with jumbotrons and everything). It was the hardest thing I've done to date, and the last 5km were a living hell. However, it went largely according to plan, and I did a bit better than I realistically thought I would ( I finished 3:33 and predicted a finish time between 3:30 and 4:00). I was almost in tears when I crossed the finish line. My friends came to meet me at the end, and more joined me for some celebratory drinks later on in the evening.
